Mother’s Day
For Mother’s day, I brought my mom to this new restaurant in an equally new hotel in BGC. I also bought a purse for her (the white one in her picture above) and have given her the phone which is my brother’s gift. :)
We had a swell night which we spent at Serendra afterwards; window shopping baby! Haha! To my followers: Happy Mother’s Day to your mom! ♥
My mom and I were having this conversation where I was telling her my plans and my goals in life; as well as the things that I’m saving up on, when all of a sudden, she said…
“Why do I have this feeling that you’re in a rush…? Slow down… You’re still young. You don’t have to pressure yourself like this.”
I almost broke down when she said that…
But I quickly shook my head, saying that I don’t have the luxury to slow down. And I know that I am young, but this phase will soon pass without my knowing. With a sad look in her eyes, she just nodded. She’s my mom so I know that she understood, but still she said, “But don’t forget to have fun, okay? Well yeah, true enough, being young is only for a while, so when you get past that point, often times, there’s no more room for fun. So just remember to NOT forget.”
To which I replied, “You know me, I know how to have fun… despite the bullshit.” I know that she was about to comment on how I was cursing like that, but she just left it at that and squeezed my hand with a smile.
I have a cool mom. :)
I just called my mom to bring some reinforcements, and by reinforcements, I mean food.
I’M SO HUNGRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRY.
And I can’t get out of the house because of this cold. And yes, my fridge is empty because I haven’t done my grocery shopping for weeks. I’ve never done that before. Never.
This happened yesterday, and I was out in our balcony. You see, these past few days, I was feeling a bit lost and depressed. I was questioning how I was leading my life in the corporate world, if I should take any steps, blah blah blah. To keep it short, I was just stressed and I was having such a hard time trying to put out my feelings (YES, EMO MOMENT, YO!) when all of a sudden, my mom showed up out of nowhere:
ME: Oh my God... mom, are you crying?
Mom: A while ago, but--
ME: *starts crying* Don't cry! Or else I'll cry too!
Mom: But... you're already crying!!!!!
ME: Why are you crying?
Mom: Why are YOU crying?
ME: Because you're crying!
Mom: Not anymore!
ME: Did something happen?
Mom: I was just peeling onions and I was going to ask for your help!
ME: LIES!!! That's so cliche!
Mom: I'm not lying! I'm preparing dinner anyway!
ME: LIES!
Mom: Hush! Now, why are you crying?
ME: ....
ME: You have this effect on me!
Mom: What.
ME: ....
Mom: You're just trying to find a reason to cry.
ME: ....
Mom: Awww... Come 'ere, I'll comfort you.
Me: Go away.
Me: Mom, I want a dog. I have my own apartment now and I think I can already handle a dog. I mean, I really want and NEED a dog.
Mom: No.
Me: What? Why?
Mom: When a woman, who lives alone in an apartment, has a dog... it's bad. It would mean that a man owns her.
Me: ...................
Mom: .......................
Me: ...................
Mom: .......................
Me: What.
Mom: .................
Me: What?!
Mom: I don't even know what I said.
Me: You just don't want me to own a dog, do you?
Mom: Because I'm sure that when I come visit you here, you'd just make me clean up the mess.
Me: Well actually, I'm already living alone so why am I asking for your permission...?
Mom: That too, exactly.
Me: .................
Mom: Why are we having this conversation again?
Candid photo taken by my mom while we were at Dusit Thani.
Mom: Hey, what are you so mad about?
Me: *looks up* Huh? What? I’m not.
Mom: *shows me the photo* You really looked mad. And stressed.
Me: Wow… do I always look like this when I’m reading?
Mom: I don’t know. What are you reading anyway?
Me: Something about food.
Mom: That makes sense.
Me: What.
LOL. Now I’m wondering…
So adorable! <3

Sister: Hey, that guy we met at Church asked my husband if you were single, and well... are you?
Me: No, I'm not.
Sister: What?! You're taken?
Me: Yeah.
Sister: By who!?
Me: My computer.
Sister: OH.
Me: But really, tell him no.
Awwww…
Wait, what show is this? :))
