HAHAHA—haaaay.

I was actually shocked when I learned that Starbucks had revised their branding principles and will now be shifting to the above 2011 logo for their 40th anniversary. What do I feel about this new turn of the company? I feel weirded out. I mean… look at what the coffee holders would look like. It looks so… new. Awkward.

I guess I’m just not used to change.

But anyway, the reason why they made such a big shift is because the company is planning to add more to their product lines—in short, diversification. So they REALLY are intent in stripping away any mention of coffee from its logo since as I’ve said, they’re planning to diversify their product portfolio.  And besides, they claimed that its brand is recognizable enough (well yeah it is) so they thought that there was no need to reinforce it anymore nor even further.

One of the matters that Starbucks is looking into is in providing service where customers can order their drinks through their mobiles. (Actually I have yet to confirm but is there already a drive-through Starbucks? I think I’ve heard or seen of such.) And they are also planning on offering beer and wine (really now). I just hope these plans would become successful and that the company had studied the effects of such changes and launches.

Hmmm… I now have a list of famous nameless/wordless logos:

  • Starbucks
  • Apple
  • Nike
  • What else?

But wait… why do I care so much? I’m not even in love with coffee! LOL.
Naaaah, I just wanted to rant about this issue :))
I should act business-y at times too. HAHA!

And before I end this, I just have to reiterate how my MARKET3 (Ms. Zamorra) answered what does Starbucks sell: “Experience.”

Brand Wonderland — find 60 famous brands. [Click picture above to be led to the site]

My. Head. Hurt. So. Freakin’. Much… but I finished it! Hur, hur, hur. I’ve encountered brands I’ve never known before… and it was pretty fun especially when brands were taken literally into the pictures.

*Is lazy to crop the picture and LOL I have so many tabs and windows open. You can click the image or this to see the larger version of it; so you can also spy on how I drive my laptop into lagging-oblivion because I have so many windows/tabs open LOL :))
*And oh yes, my image is now like a cheat sheet. But hey; it’s up to you to feel fulfilled knowing that you figured out the brands on the image by yourself and not through my screenshot ;)
