So the Binibining Pilipinas show has finally ended and the following were the winners:

And my reactions are:
- I’m just thankful that #8 was there, because she did deserve a title. It’s just a bit of a suprise to me as to why #18 and #13 are crowned—well because actually, for the most part, I can’t remember their answers—they didn’t leave much of an impression hence my forgetting of them.
- The gowns were horrifyingly bland. All the gowns looked like they were of Divisoria-quality and I do shop at Divisoria quite often. Okay… that was harsh but really now… where’s the glam??? There wasn’t a single outfit there that caught my eye.
- Horrible, horrible.
- Just… holyshit.
- CAMERAMAN MUST GET HIS SHIT TOGETHER MAN. There was this part where they announced #13 as the winner, but the cameraman did this fast zooming in thing, BUT to another candidate (which was apparently 18). Realizing his mistake 3 seconds later, he slowly centered in on #13.
- I understand how some of the contestants didn’t answer well because I swear, when you’re put into that spot and the question is thrown at you, a lot of things would run inside your head and the rehearsed answers that you’ve read beforehand can muddle your thoughts and your speech (I know okay, ‘cause I did join these kinds of shiz before and will never ever join again). But what’s just ridiculous is the grammar… they can just speak in Filipino if they’re having a hard time :|
- Xian Lim must also get his shit together, man.
- GEORGINA WILSON, I’ll forever love you and your face. And yes, tonight, I liked your gown! But suckish hosting though. (But imagine if she were suddenly crowned while she’s hosting there on the stage? I mean, just to get it over with. That would have been epic. HAHA!)
Binibining Pilipinas 2012
So I’m watching the Binibining Pilipinas show even if I’m not actually that type of person who watches this kind of shiz. My main reason for watching it this year is because we have a Batanes-represent (my hometown), namely, Liezl (or Leizl? Well whatevs) Alcantara who is number 16.
I’ve just started watching it, and at this point I saw that she made it to the second round. Woot, I’m actually nervous for her. Meanwhile, if I may just add, that #8 looked gorgeous. I’m not going to place any bets, I just hope that whoever wins this beauty contest is worth the title. So yes, that woman must have the brains too.
Saw this picture on imgur and just had to post it here, because this is without a doubt, one of the most badass women alive. Meet Katrina Hodge, a corporal in the British Army and Miss England 2009. According to Wikipedia, she enlisted back in 2004 after her brother challenged her to and earned the nickname “Combat Barbie” after showing up at her assigned unit wearing false eyelashes, kitten heels (whatever those are) and carry a pink suitcase. In 2005 her unit, the Royal Anglian Regiment, was deployed to Iraq, where she saved the lives of her comrades from a prisoner by wrestling not one, but two rifles from him and then knocking his ass out with her bare hands.

Then in 2009, she decided to compete in the Miss England competition to destroy stereotypes about women in the military. She didn’t win (she placed runner-up), but still became Miss England after the woman who did got into a fight and gave up the crown. While Miss England, Hodge convinced the people running the competition to ditch the bikini contest, because she felt that it was more important to be a role model than looking good in a bikini.
In 2010, she handed over the crown and returned to military service, being deployed to Afghanistan.
This woman is both a BAMF and a HBIC. Damn.
